Revitalize Our Public Education System
An underfunded, understaffed, and neglected American public school system will never make our country great again. With buildings in disrepair nationwide, we must enable local governments to remodel or replace our most vital resource and restore hope to our nation's youth.
Education empowers the youth of today and the leaders of tomorrow with a love of learning, a sense of inquisitiveness, and ambition to reach beyond the status quo. If our democracy is to function well, we need to have people who are able to think, explore, imagine, and engineer or country's future.
Without quality education for ALL of America's…

The economy
How is this not #1. Unemployment at 6.5%, home values dropping, layoffs everywhere, sales down, etc. If you don't fix the economy there will be little use in electric cars, mass transit or event education.

Developing a Community Manager for the USA
With activism and enthusiasm comes chaos and confusion. President-Elect Obama has created great interest in pitching in and helping out.
In order to help drive these efforts forward, the Obama administration needs to hire a US Community Manager who would implement and oversee community concepts that create connection and collaboration between citizens and government.

improving public transportation and mass transit
It's irresponsible of us to think that we can continue to drive everywhere, especially in large urban areas. We need to spend money, time, and effort to build out our public transportation (buses, light rail, subway, etc.) as well as nationwide mass transit such as Amtrak.

Improve the economy by creating green jobs
We need jobs that will last. We need to reduce our dependence on foreign energy supplies. We need to reduce our impact on the environment. Work on all three issues by creating jobs in green industries: Conservation--improve energy efficiency in homes, schools and businesses; Green energy sources--wind, solar, biomass; Green transportation--mass transit, improved biking and walking, more efficient private vehicles (hybrid, solar, total electric, etc)

Barack Obama Should Actually USE Twitter
BarackObama is currently the most followed user on Twitter. I think this makes for a great way for him to get out quick messages with his audience.
The problem is, HE is not Tweeting. His political campaign has. I suggest Obama gets on Twitter himself and give updates to people. Words of inspiration and hope and status on his initiatives.
Please see Gary Vaynerchuck's video on this subject:

Enable the Monetary Reform Act
Its time to end the dept in America.
This act will make sure the power is returned to the president and not the few powerfull people who have the money (and the banks).
Privately owned banks should not be able to create money nor should they be allowed to lend money (that they do not have) at interest.

Charge or Release the Guantanamo Detainees
We've been detaining suspected enemy combatants at Guantanamo Bay for years now. We need to restore our reputation in the world, and that starts with respecting our own standards for Habeas Corpus. We need to charge each of the detainees, or release them. Holding people without charge - even so-called bad guys - undermines the rule of law and gives terrorists fodder for recruiting, making us less safe than if we just tried or released the detainees.

Get rid of the electoral college
Presidents should be elected by popular vote! Everyone talked about this in 2000 and 2004 when half of us were disenfranchised, but it's all but forgotten once someone gets into the White House. Let's elect our President as an entire country, not as Red and Blue states.

Bring Back The Fireside Chat
Bring back the fireside chat that FDR created. Make it lo-fi thing. Tell us what's going on, answer email, keep us engaged. Make it a podcast, could be a video, distribute it everywhere. Invite guests... don't make it scripted. Just one more thing to drive transparency.

uptick rule
The SEC needs to change it's rules about shorting stock as it is going down. Former chairman Chris Cox allowed this change, which in my opinion, is part of the reason the stock market has been in a free fall. Stocks are an important investment tool for all Americans and this change will help re-instate confidence in the markets, and help stabalize our economy.
