Recapialize the Banks Through the PEOPLE
The best way to convince banks to resume lending is to return the problem loans to health. The best way to do this is to give money to the PEOPLE. Those who don't need any relief will spend the money - thus stimulating the economy. Those who are fearful will bank the money - thus increasing bank reserves. Those who truly need the relief to stay in their homes can start paying their mortgages again - thus turning troubled loans into good loans once again. Everyone wins. People stay in their homes. Gasoline tax
Establish a gasoline tax encouraging energy conservation and discouraging use of gas guzzlers. The tax should be revenue neutral for low income earners (matching a comparable decrease in payroll tax). The tax should NOT be revenue neutral for high income earners. The revenue obtained from this tax should be used to fund alternative energy sources (e.g. wind, solar, etc.) and altenative transportation (e.g. electric, fuel cell, etc.).

Change bailout concept -create good bank instead of bad bank
Banks with their bad and sometime predatory lending practices are responsible for the artificial real estate price inflation and economic downturn. Those banks need to fail.
Instead of bailing out bad banks, government should step out and create a lending window (good bank), that will lend to small business and homeowners. Private capital can flow into the good bank, so government does not have to provide all the funds. The good bank can buy bad assets at market price and restore the mortages to the homeowners at more reasonable terms. Repeal Federal Tax Code begin 23% tax on all goods services
Our tax code is outdated and contains almost 700 million words that encompass volumes of books that experts have to study tiny bits of to make sense of one law. A simple 23% tax would eliminate this complex tax code and enforce taxation on all individuals, whether you are an alien or a drug dealer, you would be taxed for your goods and services. The government would benefit and be able to fortify its treasury and finally balance the budget in spite of the Bush Administrations raid on it.

Fair taxes means each person pays the same rate. pick a percentage and each person pays the same percentage no matter what you earn. Simple, easy, no accountant required, no lawyers, effective.

Revise the Credit Scoring System (FICO)
We should be scored on our assets and 'body' of credit! Also did you know that credit card companies penalize you and lower your credit score for inactivty? Putting the credit rating system in the hands of private industry is like putting the foxes in charge of the hen house. It's wrong and it's just plain stupid.
