Pardon - extra $80 / year, not month.

Please, don't do this. It will create a government monopoly on ISP's, the quality will be less than optimal, and "free" is a deception.

Take the public libraries for example: I pay for our county library whether I use it or not. The library closest to me resides in another county, but if I want to use that library, I have to pay an extra $80 a month.

I know - I'm of the same opinion. If religion influences people, and people create government, then what, should we have nothing but atheists in office?

Has nobody looked at the back of a dollar bill lately, or our coinage? Is it possible that the current interpretation of http://tinyurl.com/8c9et has been heavily distorted since it was conceived?

Though I agree with the sentiment - your focusing on the wrong side of the looking glass. Rather than focusing on being seen as a respected nation again, lets focus on being a nation dedicated to principles and doing what is right. The respect will follow.

    No no no no no.
Representative government is our ally against the masses of uninformed voters.

Elect those who will represent your principles - those with integrity and honesty, and then trust them to do their job.

Nobody has the time necessary to research every issue and make an educated decision.

The government can not fix the economy - it can only provide favorable conditions for the economy to thrive by:

    * Establishing justice and enforcing the law if force or deception occurs in a market.
    * Getting out of the way

Government intervention in markets is the problem, not the solution. Government intervention has a crippling effect on the ambition of entrepreneurs.

I agree in that change is needed here, but don't agree with the proposed solution. Want and death are rightly the natural consequences for idleness, and it is not the proper role of government to provide mercy - this duty lies in the hands of individual citizens.

The proper role of government is to that of Justice: Military, Court systems, Police, regulating currency, etc.

The National Education Board needs to be disbanded, and education must be done locally.

Additionally, by helping to reduce the government-monopoly on education we will allow the profit-motive to bring us more innovation in education which I believe will ultimately lower the cost of education for all.

How do you propose to accomplish that?

If it's in the regards of "you make a mess, you clean it up" - I'm all for it.
