fix health insurance billing
Currently Health insurance billing is really messed up and in a number of cases health insurance companies reject bills from health care providers for a number of silly reasons like punctuation, etc... We need to standardize the medical billing industry and bills that pass the standard, will be required to be payed. The web has complex validation software for things like CSS, XHTML, HTML 4.01 transitional, argh, well its complicated. There is no reason that a validation engine for medical bills could not be built and maintained by the government.

Save auto industry
We can not allow the cascading effect to the manufacturing industry in the US that would result from the failure of the Big 3 auto makers. Now is a time for real leadership which neither President Bush nor the current Democratic Congressional leadership appear willing to accept. Hopefully change implies a willingness to be bold and even temporaily unpopular in the face of the country's current economic crisis. The President elect has indicated support for government measures, but time is critical and if the current administration and Congress will not act now, he should step up to the plate and…

Make Taxes Fair and Easy
The automated payment tax (APTtax.com) is a tax program that puts the burden of taxes on banks and payment authorities. The idea is simple, whenever you transfer fund between any two accounts, there is a 0.3% tax. The tax can be so low because there are so many transactions. The best part is that people who make money from money are usually taxed more heavily, while people that work for it are taxed less. If you want to read more about the Automated Payment Tax please visit apttax.com.

Bank Bailout
Please do not continue to provide any bail out assistance to banks such as CHASE that are unwilling to work with customers in need of some help/bailout. Ummm...it is our money (taxpayers) and they are unwilling to share the help with us.

Reverse the socialistic trend and encourage self-reliance
Our nation has been on the trail to socialism for a long time now. Socialism distorts values and encourages waste. Socialism puts money in the hands of those who do not know what to do with it.
By reversing our trend towards socialism will be a fundamental change and lead us towards true sustainable change and more prosperity.

Suspending federal income tax
Suspending federal income tax on the working would allow the people of this country to fix the economical problem themselves. So much money is being wasted on a plan that ultimately will fail. Handing those of us who didn't make smart decisions will not fix the problem yet only extend the problem and eventually we will be right back to this place we're in now. Set a time period of suspension, give the people back their money and watch the economy grow.

2009 Rescue Fund Suggestion - "...for a change!"
Direct upcoming rescue package (approximately $750B) directly to the American people to resolve current credit card and mortgage debt. The govt. should allocate up to $200,000 to each homeowner to help alleviate debt and infuse the economy. Govt can work to ensure specific percentage of funds are used to pay current personal debt providing appropriate oversight. Bottom line...resolve the issue by addressing the root cause.

$3 billion for stem cell research.
China and Japan greatly surpass the United States in funding for stem cell research. This cutting edge science is already showing promise in areas as diverse as limb and organ generation, treatment of chronic diseases such as diabetes, and reconstruction of parts of the human nervous system. It is a tragedy that the United States has fallen behind in this area.

Ourselves
Monday, January 26, 2009
Dear President Obama
Does it really take rocket scientist to figure out the downfall of our economy today?Do we really need to search any further then the dwindling honesty Americans have lost over the years? We, as American Citizens have deceived ourselves right into the poor house and now we want to blame the Government and expect them to bail us out?
These are the questions I'd like to see answered-by anyone.
As a woman I have owned and operated my own service related business for the past 20 years or so. I find that…

Rove should testify under oath. No deals!
It is vital, crucial for our democracy that Rove be forced to testify under oath, especially concerning his alleged involvement in the Siegelman prosecution. This should not be allowed to get swept under the rug. We must ensure as a country that Rove is held accountable for the kinds of activities he has spearheaded or been a party to. The Obama administration has a moral obligation to honor Obama's campaign promises. I believe strongly that this should include accepting NO DEALS that allow Rove to escape testifying under oath.

open dialogue with Americans and foreigners, like this!!
I am South African. In my opinion, one of the big problems of the previous ruling party was a 'disconnect' from the world's voices. More than that, it was the pursuit of an agenda that differs from the people that it serves. This happens here in South Africa as well, so its not unique.
My suggestion (as outsider affected indirectly) would be to create mechanisms for listening, and tools for responding and feedback. Clear, simple ones... like this one!! This will earn USA the global respect it so richly deserves...
