We can not allow the cascading effect to the manufacturing industry in the US that would result from the failure of the Big 3 auto makers. Now is a time for real leadership which neither President Bush nor the current Democratic Congressional leadership appear willing to accept. Hopefully change implies a willingness to be bold and even temporaily unpopular in the face of the country's current economic crisis. The President elect has indicated support for government measures, but time is critical and if the current administration and Congress will not act now, he should step up to the plate and indicate boldly his intentions of pursuing this as an immediate priority.
