Reverse the socialistic trend and encourage self-reliance
Our nation has been on the trail to socialism for a long time now. Socialism distorts values and encourages waste. Socialism puts money in the hands of those who do not know what to do with it.
By reversing our trend towards socialism will be a fundamental change and lead us towards true sustainable change and more prosperity.

Reassure and connect with estranged conservatives.
One of the worst side effects of a nasty campaign is the disillusioned voters that didn't win. Important sections of the community are actually scared that Obama will be President. I think most of this is caused by all the reaches the Republican part had to make in order to stay in the race at all. Negative ads, rumors, etc.
So, tell these good people that you're not going to take all their money and give it to people who don't want to work and want to live off of the government. Tell them that their 2nd Amendment rights are…

Real partnerships with other countries
No one-sided deals, if we get their oil of whatever it is that we want from them let's truly rebuild their country, why do we need to always do this on the back of an "invasion". We have to stop our "kick down the front door and bring flowers" two-faced approach to bettering the world. The same goes for all the puppet dictators and regimes we support.

Voting machine software must be open-source
The cheapest, safest and easiest way to improve (voter confidence in) electronic voting is to open-source it. It's win-win on so many levels. Any hardware certification must include the clause that if a newer version is released, the machine is automatically de-certified and the current version must be visible.

Improve the economy by creating green jobs
We need jobs that will last. We need to reduce our dependence on foreign energy supplies. We need to reduce our impact on the environment. Work on all three issues by creating jobs in green industries: Conservation--improve energy efficiency in homes, schools and businesses; Green energy sources--wind, solar, biomass; Green transportation--mass transit, improved biking and walking, more efficient private vehicles (hybrid, solar, total electric, etc)

Make the United States a Respected Nation Again
I would like to see the United States be seen as a respected nation in the world view again. It seems that no one else likes us and I really can't blame them. Lets show the rest of the world we're a responsible nation that is still the land of freedom and opportunity.

Remove Arctic Wildlife Refuge from potential drilling sites.
This pristine part of our country has been threatened by this administration and members of Congress throughout this administration. We must once and for all provide it with the protection it deserves.

Charge or Release the Guantanamo Detainees
We've been detaining suspected enemy combatants at Guantanamo Bay for years now. We need to restore our reputation in the world, and that starts with respecting our own standards for Habeas Corpus. We need to charge each of the detainees, or release them. Holding people without charge - even so-called bad guys - undermines the rule of law and gives terrorists fodder for recruiting, making us less safe than if we just tried or released the detainees.

Virtual Public Schools
Not everyone can be the best teacher, but we can try to document the best teachers in the country and allow students the opportunity to telecommute to any of their lessons.
The Videos can be an award for outstanding teachers and we can give those teachers a huge national award, say for the best lesson on simple addition, multiplication, the Gettysburg address, etc... This library of videos and knowledge can then be used to either help train other teachers, or for students directly. Universities like MIT and Standford are experimenting with ideas like these by putting their coursework online, but…

Make Taxes Fair and Easy
The automated payment tax (APTtax.com) is a tax program that puts the burden of taxes on banks and payment authorities. The idea is simple, whenever you transfer fund between any two accounts, there is a 0.3% tax. The tax can be so low because there are so many transactions. The best part is that people who make money from money are usually taxed more heavily, while people that work for it are taxed less. If you want to read more about the Automated Payment Tax please visit apttax.com.

fix health insurance billing
Currently Health insurance billing is really messed up and in a number of cases health insurance companies reject bills from health care providers for a number of silly reasons like punctuation, etc... We need to standardize the medical billing industry and bills that pass the standard, will be required to be payed. The web has complex validation software for things like CSS, XHTML, HTML 4.01 transitional, argh, well its complicated. There is no reason that a validation engine for medical bills could not be built and maintained by the government.

End all business taxes.
Businesses don't pay taxes. Instead, all taxes supposedly levied on businesses are passed down the line of production as price increases on what consumers pay for products and services they consume; in effect, they are an invisible tax burden on everyone--rich and poor--in the nation. Ending "business" taxes--even if it meant increasing taxes on individuals--would lower product prices, make the actual tax burden that a person bears more transparent, and encourage business development in the nation, spurring the economy. Creating a business environment where business owners no longer needed to spend billions of dollars a year finding an exploiting tax…

Educate American's on HOW our Financial Institutions Work
I think most needed these days is for our President to focus on Educating American's on the systems that control our every day reality. This should start with a lesson on our Financial Institutions and specifically, exactly who/what the Federal Reserve is, how money is added and subtracted from the system and exactly what a "Fiat Monetary System" is and how it effects the value of our currency both here and abroad.
