Developing a Community Manager for the USA

With activism and enthusiasm comes chaos and confusion. President-Elect Obama has created great interest in pitching in and helping out.

In order to help drive these efforts forward, the Obama administration needs to hire a US Community Manager who would implement and oversee community concepts that create connection and collaboration between citizens and government.

I completely agree. President-elect Obama has built an amazing community during his campaign, which could be a powerful force to help inform and power his mandate during the upcoming term and severe challenges ahead. It would be a tragedy to leave this potential untapped and the dream of a more transparent and responsive government unrealized.

This is an idea whose time has long since come. We have a good portion of the population that is fully engaged and aware using these new communications tools. It's time the government followed suit.
